On this day of passover almost two millineum ago, the Lord Jesus Christ was despised, rejected, scourged and crucified on the cross.( Isaiah 53) His blood poured out for the sins of mankind. Are we one of his, washed in the blood of the Lamb of God, purifying ourselves as he is pure( 1John 3:2-3 Rev 1:5-6 Rev 7:13-14 )? Do we remember that we are priests to God(1Peter 2:5,9 Rev 1:6)? That every part of our life needs to be cleansed (Exodus 29:20-21); what we listen to, what we do with our hands, where we walk. That we are to be holy, called out and separated from this world, strange, and different. Are we trampling on his sacrifice made for us by doing what we want to do, listening to the ways of this world, it’s music, it’s philosophies; walking with the world, aligning ourselves with it’s attitudes, agendas, amibitions?
My brethren, remember everyday, in your homes behind closed doors, and when you walk out into this world, the price he paid for us. It wasn’t cheap…
Exodus 29:20-21 Then shalt thou kill the ram, and take of his blood, and put it upon the tip of the right ear of Aaron, and upon the tip of the right ear of his sons, and upon the thumb of their right hand, and upon the great toe of their right foot, and sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about. And thou shalt take of the blood that is upon the altar, and of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon the garments of his sons with him: and he shall be hallowed, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons’ garments with him.
1 Peter 2:5,9 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ…. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
1 John 3:2-3
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
Revelation 1:5-6 5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
