1 Corinthians 12:13
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Ephesians 4:1-6 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, 2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; 3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

What is that cord or tie that binds us together, but the Spirit of God dwelling and moving in us drawing us together. Partaking of one Lord, one Hope, one calling. If the Holy Spirit is not there, there can be no unity, but a false sense of security and false hope. Let us examine even our fellowship with others to see if it is based on true spiritual kinship or just earthly shallow relationships based on common interests, ideas, traditions or even mutual pet doctrines.

1 John 3:14-16 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. 15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. 16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

Blest be the tie that binds
Our hearts in Christian love;
The fellowship of kindred minds
Is like to that above.

Before our Father’s throne
We pour our ardent prayers;
Our fears, our hopes, our aims are one
Our comforts and our cares.

We share each other’s woes,
Our mutual burdens bear;
And often for each other flows
The sympathizing tear.

When we assunder part,
It gives us inward pain;
But we shall still be joined in heart,
And hope to meet again.

This glorious hope revives
Our courage by the way;
While each in expectation lives,
And longs to see the day.

From sorrow, toil and pain,
And sin, we shall be free,
And perfect love and friendship reign
Through all eternity.

My brother Brandon, has written a post called Unseen Idolatry
The link to his and his wife Tia’s blog La Via is on my links list to the right. He talks about the “houses of God” the church has built versus the true spiritual house of God.
May we look at all the traditions that we have built today, to see if they are truly what the Lord has required of us, or are they idols in our hearts we don’t want to tear down.

On this day of passover almost two millineum ago, the Lord Jesus Christ was despised, rejected, scourged and crucified on the cross.( Isaiah 53) His blood poured out for the sins of mankind. Are we one of his, washed in the blood of the Lamb of God, purifying ourselves as he is pure( 1John 3:2-3 Rev 1:5-6 Rev 7:13-14 )? Do we remember that we are priests to God(1Peter 2:5,9 Rev 1:6)? That every part of our life needs to be cleansed (Exodus 29:20-21); what we listen to, what we do with our hands, where we walk. That we are to be holy, called out and separated from this world, strange, and different. Are we trampling on his sacrifice made for us by doing what we want to do, listening to the ways of this world, it’s music, it’s philosophies; walking with the world, aligning ourselves with it’s attitudes, agendas, amibitions?
My brethren, remember everyday, in your homes behind closed doors, and when you walk out into this world, the price he paid for us. It wasn’t cheap…

Exodus 29:20-21 Then shalt thou kill the ram, and take of his blood, and put it upon the tip of the right ear of Aaron, and upon the tip of the right ear of his sons, and upon the thumb of their right hand, and upon the great toe of their right foot, and sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about. And thou shalt take of the blood that is upon the altar, and of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon the garments of his sons with him: and he shall be hallowed, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons’ garments with him.

1 Peter 2:5,9 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ…. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

1 John 3:2-3
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

Revelation 1:5-6   5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Revelation 7:13-14
13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

The Sin of Covetousness
from www.ChristOurLife.ca

Recent teaching on covetousness that I have listened to. Should be very convicting to all of us who are claiming to walk with our Lord Jesus, and saying that we are like him.–Christina

Ephesians 5:1-8
Joshua 6:16-20; 7:1-8:2
1 Corinthians 5:1-13

- We need to take covetousness seriously and be on guard against such a heart. Let us ask the Spirit to help remove the wicked things from our hearts that the Lord’s favor may rest upon our lives. -Christ Our Life
